2022 Winners and finalists

LWWL 2022 Finalists

Tunbridge Wells Repair Café have been crowned the overall 2022 LWWL winner.
They have also won this year’s Community Group Award.

Tunbridge Wells Repair Café is seen by many as a place to come and socialise. It’s friendly and, helpful while promoting environmental responsibility by repairing household objects so they don’t have to be replaced. Volunteers give up their time and offer their skills for the good of others.

The group of volunteers meet once a month and repair items from toasters to toys, from laptops to lamps. Whether it is a cherished teddy bear with a missing eye or a useful kitchen gadget the repairers bring an astonishing wealth of experience and creative ways to solve a wide variety of problems.

Today’s ‘throwaway culture’ means far too many things go to waste when a small repair can give an item a new lease of life.  The Repair Café therefore provides a valued service to the community.

10 awards in total were given out at this year’s ceremony, ranging from Community Group and Green Business to Young Sports Achiever and Volunteer of the Year.
