Providence Chapel: Building at RiskProvidence Chapel is a grade II* listed building (also known as a heritage asset), early 19th century non-conformist chapel located in the centre of Cranbrook. It has been redundant for over 30 years, is in poor condition, and is registered as a Building at Risk.
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC) has produced an advisory planning brief with the aim of helping to secure a long-term sustainable use for the refurbishment of the listed chapel in a way that meets TWBC's policies and standards and where possible sustains or enhances its significance and setting. The brief sets out the relevant planning policies and guidance that should be addressed in any future development proposal for the site. It also sets out some of the key planning and design issues and information that an applicant/owner should include in any future planning or listed building consent application.
The chapel is currently up for sale. Interested parties are advised to view the advisory planning brief and contact TWBC with any enquiries in the first instance at planning.policy@tunbridgewells.gov.uk. | |
